Second half goals from Martin Donaghy and Jim Kelly helped secure a 2-14 to 0-05 win for Derry over Queens in Maghera.

The Oak Leafers, showing seven changes from last weekend’s loss to Monaghan, played themselves back into contention in Section B of the Dr. McKenna Cup.

2004 All-Star full-forward Enda Muldoon scored three first half points as Derry led 0-08 to 0-04 at the interval.

Donaghy and Kelly both found the Queen’s net in the second half, leaving too much of a gap for the Belfast students. Derry face a must win clash against Antrim next Sunday.
