Meath board issues ultimatum

Meath football manager Eamonn Barry may resign after just one game in charge

The Meath County Board have made it clear that senior football manager Eamonn Barry will have to come up with the name of a new physio, other than Dessie Rogers, or make his mind up about his future as Meath manager.

Meath beat Louth yesterday, but afterwards Barry revealed he may not stay in charge as he has had a disagreement with the county board over the composition of his backroom team.

Barry wanted Dessie Rogers as his team physiotherapist and he had wanted his brother, Martin Barry, involved.

However, they were not ratified by the county board. Both men received lengthy bans after an alleged incident with the chairman of the county board in 2003.

Earlier, Barry threatened to resign from his recently acquired post over the issue.

The management board in Meath will meet on Wednesday night to discuss the controversy.
