Frankie Dolan and Conor Beirne have been dropped from the Roscommon senior football panel for disciplinary reasons.
According to reports, there was an incident between players and members of the management team in which Dolan was involved after Roscommon’s defeat to Mayo in the Connacht SFC semi-final on Sunday.
Dolan was also dropped from the panel by former manager Tommy Carr during this year's National League campaign, but the St Brigid’s clubman was re-instated by new boss Val Daly. Indeed, Carr’s departure from Roscommon was reportedly due to the discipline problems in the camp.
And in May 2002 there was an incident in which Dolan and others were photographed playing pool nude in a hotel in Derry while other players were reported to have run riot in the hotel. The following month the Roscommon County Board disbanded senior football team on the understanding that any players who wanted to play for any newly formed team would have to promise good behaviour.
Roscommon are due to play a second round football qualifier in two weeks.
