Meath will take on Dublin in at Croke Park without the injured Trevor Giles as manager Sean Boylan boldly opts for five Championship newcomers in his team.

Giles has failed to recover from a shoulder injury and is not even expected to feature on the substitutes' bench for Sunday's Bank of Ireland Leinster Senior Football Championship clash against the Royals' bitter rivals.

The biggest surprise in Boylan's selection is Championship debutant Peadar Byrne, who starts at centre forward.

The other four new faces are Kevin Reilly (full-back), Caoimhín King (left half-back), Stephen Bray (half-forward) and Brian Farrell (left corner-forward).

Stalwart Graham Geraghty, meanwhile, starts in the full-forward line. David Crimmins moves from attack to right half-back while Darren Fay is selected at centre-back.
