As expected, Paul Caffrey has been named as the new manager of the Dublin senior football team.
Caffrey, who worked as a selector for three years under outgoing manager Tommy Lyons, was unveiled as the new Dublin boss after a meeting of the county board tonight.
Caffrey is well known around the club scene in Dublin and in 2001 led he Na Fianna to their third county success in a row.
He also led the club to the Leinster title in 1999, they went on to the All-Ireland club final but lost to Crossmaglen Rangers.
The former Na Fianna boss revealed that he was first approached about the job last Monday.
In an interview with Newstalk106, he said: "I was approached on Monday and asked to put a team together. I thought about it for a short period of time and was not about to turn my back on the players."
