The Tipperary football team have made themselves unavailable for selection for Saturday's All-Ireland qualifier with Fermanagh following the resignation of manager Andy Shorthall.

The county board have been left with no other option than to withdraw the county from the championship and give Fermanagh a walkover for Saturday's game.

Shorthall and his selectors resigned their positions yesterday due to a number of club games involving county players being scheduled for this week by the county board.

The players met last night when they decided to back their manager and make themselves unavailable for selection, leaving the county board with no other option other than to withdraw from the competition.
