Mayo ladies kit row resolved

Mayo ladies team reinstated
Mayo ladies team reinstated

The Mayo ladies football team have been reinstated to "all activities of the Association" following their appeal against a suspension over the ongoing row over kit suppliers.

The reigning All-Ireland champions were suspended from following a meeting of the association's Central Council on Wednesday night. Mayo had a deal with manufacturers Azzurri, even though the association had secured a general contract with O'Neill's for all counties.

However, after an emergency meeting of the Management Committee of Cumann Peil Gael na mBan last night, the decision has been made to reinstate the Mayo Ladies County Board.

A statement from Cumann Peil Gael na mBan confirmed the decision and read: "The dispute between Cumann Peil Gael na mBan and the Mayo Ladies County Board is resolved. As a result of this decision, the semi-final of the Ladies National Football League between Mayo and Waterford, due to be played on Sunday, April 18th, will now take place as scheduled in Moate at 2pm."

"Cumann Peil Gael na mBan is delighted this issue has been resolved at last and the Association can now concentrate on the business of promoting the game of Ladies Gaelic Football in Ireland."
