Limerick's unbeaten run came to an empahtic end against the Trbesmen as the Shannonsiders succumbed to a 10-point margin, losing 4-11 to 1-10.
A goal from Matthew Clancy helped give Galway a 1-3 to 0-0 lead, before a Eoin Keating point opened Limerick's account and began a purple patch for the visitors, as they reduced the gap to a point, 1-3 to 0-05.
Defender Diarmuid Sheehy put Limerick in front with his goal, but just as Liam Kearns' men looked to be taking control, the Connacht side levelled matters by the whistle with three points and after the break their dominance was telling as they managed to bag three goals.
Michael Donnellan was put through to grab Galway's second goal soon after the break, while Nicky Joyce added two more points, Padraig Joyce smashed home a goal and finally Clancy got in for a second to end the contest.
