Limerick come from behind to win

Limerick continued their incredible league form in their first season in the top flight as they came from behind at Kingscourt to win 0-11 to 0-07 with Maurice Horan and captain Muiris Gavin their prime scorers.

Limerick went ahead on three minutes from a well-executed Gavin free. Larry Reilly, starting for the first time this season, began a run of four straight scores for the home side as Gerald Pierson's two frees and a well-taken point from play from Anthony Ford put Cavan 0-04 to 0-01 in front after 25 minutes.

Gavin's second free and a Horan point five minutes later put two between the sides at the break after Nicholas Walsh pointed Cavan's fifth score.

A hat-trick of quick frees from half forward Gavin inside the first ten minutes of the second half handed the initiative back to the visitors and the win looked assured when Cavan's Pierce McKenna and Anthony Forde walked for second yellow cards after 22 and 25 minutes of the second half respectively.

The men in green rounded out their win with Horan, Eoin Keating, Horan again and Stephen Kelly, a goalscorer in their first game, all finding their scoring touch.
