Carlton to confirm Setanta move on Friday

Setanta Ó hAilpín's immediate sporting future will be confirmed on Friday when Carlton Australian Rules football team name him on their rookie list for the 2004 season. Cork's 20-year-old 'Young Hurler of the Year' and All-Star has already started training with the Blues and says it wasn't a big decision to play Aussie Rules at the highest level.

He is quoted on the the AFL's official website as saying: "It’s been arranged now, the biggest thing that drove me here is the way that AFL is professional and I’d like to see myself as a professional player in the years to come. They train hard, but at the end of the day, you’ve got to earn your crust of bread and people have got to work.'
