Graham Geraghty has lodged an appeal to the Leinster Council against his 48 week Meath County Board-imposed suspension.
The former All Star was hit with the mammoth ban after allegedly verbally and physically abusing a referee after being dismissed in his club Seneschalstown's defeat to Ballivor in August.
If the Meath star's case is successful it will be sent back to the County Board to be reheard. It is then possible that the suspension may be reduced.
