The 75th anniversary of the first presentation of the Sam Maguire Cup will be celebrated in Dunmanway, Co Cork, this Saturday, September 20. All surviving winning captains from 1928 to the present day will attend a luncheon in the Parkway Hotel before being led by the Artane Boys Band to The Square, Dunmanway, where a statue to Sam Maguire was erected last year. Replica Sam Maguire cups, crafted by Waterford Crystal, will then be presented to the captains by GAA President Sean Kelly at 3.30pm. The whole event takes place during Dunmanway's annual festival.
