Goals from Anthony Tohill, Dermot Duggan and Enda Muldoon were enough to see Mickey Moran's Derry beat Wexford 3-10 to 0-09 at Wexford Park this afternoon. Wexford opened well with Matty Forde scoring all their points and everything seemed to be going their way. However, just before the stroke of half-time Derry hit two goals through Tohill and Duggan leaving the interval score 2-3 to 0-06 points.
After the break, Matty Forde began to miss his kicks and Derry began to turn the screw. Wexford defender David Murphy was sent-off following a second yellow card and after that it was all one way traffic with Derry controlling the game completely. Derry corner back Muldoon drove the final nail in the Wexford coffin when he landed a third goal, while Sean Martin Lockhart struck the last score of the game from well out the field to give Derry a comforatble ten point victory.
