A reshuffled Galway outfit welcome back Michael Donnellan to their starting line-up, however, the Tribesmen have surprisingly opted to start the former All Star in defence for Sunday's clash against Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon. The fit-again Donnellan, who usually plays at midfield or in the half forward line for his county, is selected at centre-half back for the Bank of Ireland Connacht Senior Football Championship semi-final. The Dunmore McHales star excelled in the role during last weekend's friendly defeat against Armagh.
The positional switch sees Kieran Fitzgerald move to left-corner back with Michael Comer dropped to the bench. Goalkeeper Brian Donoghue makes his championship debut, favoured ahead of Alan Keane. Ja Fallon, who, like Donnellan, came on as a substitute during the victory over Roscommon, replaces Derry O'Brien at left-half forward.
