Derry secured an impressive 4-15 to 0-07 victory over Monaghan in division 2B of the National football league in Ballinascreen. Paddy Bradly scored a hat trick with his first goal coming from the penalty spot after 13 minutes. Paul Finley kept Monaghan in touch with five first half points from place kicks but Derry still managed a five point half time lead.
Derry dominated the second half and the game was all but over when Bradley scored his second goal, fisting an Enda Muldoon pass into the Monaghan net to give Derry a 12 point lead. Bradley superbly dispatched his third goal seven minutes later before Monaghan scored their only point from play 12 minutes from time.
After that Derry fried over six unanswered points and Dermot Doogan scored Derry's fourth goal to wrap up a most convincing victory.
