There was very little action in GAA this afternoon, but of the two games of note that were played, the footballers of Roscommon and Tipperary both recorded victories. Roscommon, under new manager Tommy Carr, scored a very creditable 1-9 to 1-7 win over Sligo in the FBD Connacht League in Markeviecz Park.
Meanwhile, last year's beaten Munster finalists Tipperary beat Waterford 1-08 to 2-04 in the McGrath Cup in Clonmel.
