The strike action in Cork GAA circles has escalated with confirmation that the county's footballers have joined their hurling counterparts in withdrawing their services for training and playing.
Members of both panels met last night on Leeside and afterwards a statement confirmed the latest twist in the ongoing story. The footballers decision was reached with 28 out of the 30 man strong squad present.
On a more positive note the hurlers meanwhile have agreed to resume negotiations with the county board but have warned that substantial progress still needs to be made on a number of issues.
