Armagh dominate Football All Stars

All-Ireland champions Armagh have secured the biggest representation in this year's Vodafone Football All Stars, with an impressive total of six players chosen from Joe Kernan's heroic side.

Kerry, runners-up to Armagh, will be disappointed with a surprisingly low haul of just two. Dublin are second in the roll of honour with three selections.

There are ten new All Stars in all: Armagh's Enda McNulty, Aidan O'Rourke, Paul McGrane and Steven McDonnell, Sligo's Eamonn O'Hara, Donegal's Kevin Cassidy, Kerry's young star Colm Cooper, and Dubliners Stephen Cluxton, Paddy Christie and Ray Cosgrove.

Among the notable absentees from the team are Kerry trio Mike Frank Russell, Michael McCarthy and Dara O'Cinneide, Armagh's Ronan Clarke, Cork's Colin Corkery and Dublin's midfield colossus Ciaran Whelan.

The awards will be presented at a gala banquet at the CityWest Hotel in Saggart, County Dublin, tomorrow.
