Mayo through to All-Ireland ladies final

Mayo are through to the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Championship final after defeating Dublin 2-09 to 1-08 at Pearse Park today. Mayo led 1-06 to 1-02 at half time thanks largely to Cora Staunton who scored 1-04 of her team's tally.

Dublin battled gamely throughout with their forward Sile Ni Coitir making a massive impression on the game. She scored all but two of her side's points. Mayo's experience showed on the day however and when Marcella Heffernan linked well with her sister Christina to score Mayo's second goal the game was beyond Dublin.
