Galway football manager John O'Mahoney has dispelled rumours surrounding his future and has pledged his future to county.
O'Mahoney managed Galway to All Ireland success in 1998 and 2001, but after their recent defeat at the hands of Kerry his future with the Tribesmen was in doubt.
However, O'Mahoney has moved to clarify his future and said "The support and encouragement I got was overwhelming. I have decided along with Stephen Joyce and Pete Warren (county selectors) to give this another shot and I'm looking forward to it now."
O'Mahoney hopes that his decision to stay with the Tribesmen will influence some of his veteran players who may be considering retirement. "Of course, some rebuilding has to be done, and it will be done. Regarding player retirements, I hope everyone will think long and hard before making up their minds," he said.
