Sherlock could start for the Dubs

Dessie Farrell’s shoulder injury looks set to pave the way for Jason Sherlock to be recalled to the Dublin starting line-up for Sunday’s Bank of Ireland All-Ireland semi-final clash against Armagh at Croke Park.

Farrell is rated doubtful for the match and Sherlock, who replaced the GPA chief-executive in the quarter-final replay victory over Donegal, is the obvious replacement. Sherlock has not started a game for the Dubs since last year’s All-Ireland quarter-final replay defeat in Thurles.

Colin Moran is also an injury worry for manager Tommy Lyons. Moran is suffering from a dead leg, also sustained in the second match against Donegal. However, Moran’s problem is not thought to be as serious as Farrell’s, and he is expected to be named in Lyons’ starting 15 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Armagh manager Joe Kernan has no injuries to report. However, the Crossmaglen man will have to decide whether to start the fit-again Tony McEntee. McEntee is a possibility in either midfield or the half-forward line. Kernan is also expected to name his team on Thursday.
