Sligo football captain Eamonn O'Hara has been named as July's Vodafone GAA Player of the Month.
The midfielder's inspirational displays were instrumental in Sligo's impressive run in this summer's Bank of Ireland senior football championship. The Yeats County narrowly lost the Connacht final to Galway, knocked out a highly-fancied Tyrone team in the qualifiers and defied their 'underdogs' tag yet again to hold Ulster champions Armagh to a draw in the first of their All-Ireland quarter-final ties.
Last Sunday in Navan, however, the Orchard County ended O'Hara's and Sligo's championship run when they won the replay of that quarter-final.
