Kerry are waiting the results of an MRI scan on Shaun McGinley after the young Tarbert player landed heavily on his right knee in Kerry's match against Antrim in Tralee last Sunday. McGinley had just re-established himself in the Kerry squad after recovering from a cruciate injury sustained while playing for Waterford IT two seasons ago. He was playing his third game in succession at wing forward when he injured himself in the eighth minute and was stretchered off. His leg is now in plaster as he awaits the scan results.
McGinley's injury follows that of William Kirby who sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury last week, which rules him out for the rest of the season. Better news for Páidí Ó Sé is that Liam Hassett returned to action for Laune Rangers last Sunday, he scored a goal as his team defeated old rivals, Milltown/Castlemaine, in the first round of the Mid Kerry League.
