Tommy Lyons has, as expected, been appointed the new manager of the Dublin Senior County Football team. The Dublin County Board met at Parnell Park this evening where it was confirmed that Lyons would be the successor to Tommy Carr, whose four year reign ended in October when he was voted out by a single vote.
Lyons, a former Offaly manager, emerged as the clear favourite to take over from Carr, despite interest from Paul Claffey, Val Andrews and Alan Larkin for the high profile position.
