Ó Sé gets two-year extension

Páidí Ó Sé was unanimously re-appointed Kerry senior football manager for a further two years following a meeting of the Kerry County Board last night. There had been speculation that the eight times All-Ireland winner’s five year reign could come to an end following Kerry’s embarrassing collapse against Meath in this year’s semi-finals, but with no competition for the post, he was re-instated with the full backing of the board.

The county failed to attract a viable alternative by the close of nominations for all county management positions on September 21st. John O'Keeffe will continue as trainer, while Kerry selector Jack O’Connor has stepped down with the other selectors to be decided at a later date.
