Meath have announced their team to play Galway on Sunday, and there are no changes from the side who overcame Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final. Manager Sean Boylan will field a side that includes just two changes from the team who beat Cork in the final two years ago.
Boylan was able to choose from an injury free squad, giving him the best chance to pull off another amazing victory on Sunday. Galway named their team earlier in the week, and made only one change, Paul Clancy coming in for Alan Kerins.
Trevor Giles, the Meath captain, is cautious about meeting Galway, a side his team have not played often in recent years. But Giles is confident about the way the team has improved throughout the season. He said: "You won't know until after Galway how much our performance against Kerry was distorted. We played quite well against Kildare but Kildare were missing lads with injuries. Got ourselves out of an awful hole (against Westmeath). Played well in the replay. Down to 14 men and we won by five – that took some doing."
Sunday will be the first championship encounter between the two teams since 1970, when Meath won by four points. Prior to that Galway had dominated the clashes between the two counties.
Meath Team: Cormac O'Sullivan (St. Patrick's), Mark O'Reilly (Summerhill), Darren Fay (Trim), Cormac Murphy (St. Patrick's), Donal Curtis (Rathkenny), Nigel Nestor (Blackhall Gaels), Hank Traynor (Simonstown Gaels), Nigel Crawford (St. Peter's Dunboyne), John McDermott (Skyrne), Evan Kelly (Drumree), Trevor Giles [c] (Skyrne), Richie Kealy (Dunshaughlin), Ollie Murphy (Carnaross), Graham Geraghty (Seneschalstown), Ray McGee (Kilmainhamwood).
