Sligo's Taylor in race for fitness

Sligo forward Paul Taylor is battling to be fit in time for the All-Ireland qualifier against Dublin next weekend. Taylor missed last weekend's win over Kildare with a hip injury and fears that he will not recover in time for their attempt to claim a second big Leinster scalp. "It's not looking good but I am hoping things work out. The injury is not allowing me to run or go through any of the real range of movements. I have not done any training since the problem flared up again so I'm just hoping I can do a small bit this week," said Taylor.

"I'm working with the physio who is trying to build up the strength in my leg. It's a problem with the pelvis and abdominal muscle and it is going down into my hip and groin. I won't know until I try but I have not been able to do anything to date, so I am fighting a battle with time at this stage. In the end, though, I'll have to go with what my body tells me," he added.
