Mayo's experienced midfielder David Brady is extremely doubtful for Sunday's vital Connacht Football semi-final against Sligo. Brady is suffering from a hand injury he picked up in training yesterday and his absence would be a major blow for the League champions. Mayo left a vacancy at midfield when they named their team for the weekend match last night but it is very unlikely that Brady will make the starting line-up.
James Nallen, who came on as a substitute in the League final win over Galway, will return to the starting line-up at centre-back, replacing the injured Ray Connelly, while Alan Roche will move out to corner-back. Five of Mayo's players will be making their Championship debut - corner-back Tom Nallen, a brother of James, and forwards David McDonagh, Stephen Carolan, Marty McNicholas and Ronan Loftus. Sligo have not yet named their team for the match as several of their key players are carrying knocks and they may put off announcing their selection for a few days.
Mayo: P Burke; T Nallen, K Cahill, A Roche; F Costello, J Nallen, N Connelly; C McManaman, AN Other; J Gill, D McDonagh, S Carolan; M McNicholas, T Mortimer, R Loftus.
