Quinlan delighted with Carlow victory

Carlow's Willie Quinlan was delighted for the fans after his county's narrow victory over Wicklow in the Leinster Football Championship yesterday. "It's good to see the supporters going off very happy," he said. "It's a long time since Carlow have had a bit of success and it's nice to get the win. We go into the game with Kildare now with two games under our belts but Kildare are Leinster champions so it will be a different kettle of fish up there. Hopefully, we can catch them off their guard with their first match in the championship," he added.

However, despite the daunting task of taking on Kildare in their next game, Quinlan is not convinced that Kildare will have it easy this year. "Really, it's after levelling out in the last couple of years. You've got Meath, you've got Dublin coming back into it and Offaly are never far away while Laois had a good win earlier on against Wexford so I think it's going to be very close and hard to call who is going to win Leinster this year," he explained.
