Club football will go ahead in Tyrone this weekend, despite the county's elimination from inter county competitions due to the foot and mouth crisis. However, fixtures featuring clubs within the 10km exclusion zone around the Ardboe outbreak will not be played.
Tyrone has already been banned from participating in the National League semi-final and Under-21 football championship. There appears to be no way back into the National League, but county officials will launch a last ditch attempt to persuade Croke Park to allow the Under-21 campaign to continue without players from the Ardboe exclusion zone. They have also requested the postponement of both the league and Under-21 programmes, but this appears unlikely because of the already extensive fixture pileup.
