GAA look for resumption of fixtures

Senior GAA officials will be in contact with the Department of Agriculture over the weekend in an effort to discuss a restart of hurling and football matches. Two rounds of the Allianz Football and Hurling Leagues have already been axed with next weekend’s fixtures also in doubt.

A decision has yet to be taken on the future of the St Patrick’s Day programme and Croke Park remain non-committal about its chances of taking place. However, it is hoped some of the National League schedules can be salvaged within the next month.
