Germany
FIFA ranking: 2
Nickname: Die Nationalelf (The National Eleven)
Coach: Martina Voss-Tecklenburg
How they qualified: Topped their UEFA group ahead of Portugal, winning nine out of 10 games. A surprise 3-2 defeat in Serbia was the only setback.
Previous tournaments: Have appeared at all eight previous editions, lifting the trophy in 2003 and 2007. Quarter-finalists in 2019.
Prospects: Strong favourites to win the group and contenders for the ultimate prize. Were only beaten 2-1 by England in extra-time in the final of Euro 2022.
Colombia
FIFA ranking: 25
Nickname: Las Chicas Superpoderosas (The Powerpuff Girls)
Coach: Nelson Abadia
How they qualified: Hosts of last year's Copa America, they secured their place at the Women's World Cup by finishing second after losing 1-0 to Brazil in the final.
Previous tournaments: Colombia are playing at the Women's World Cup for the third time. They failed to get out of their group in Germany in 2011 but reached the round of 16 four years later.
Prospects:
Colombia face three other teams who were beaten finalists in recent major tournaments. Germany lost to England in the final of the European Championship, Morocco finished runner-up in the Africa Cup of Nations, and South Korea were beaten by China in the Asian Cup final.
Morocco
FIFA ranking: 72
Nickname: Lionesses of Atlas
Coach: Reynald Pedros
How they qualified: Morocco qualified as one of the four semi-finalists of the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which served as Africa's qualification event for the World Cup.
They beat Botswana and record 11-time winners Nigeria in the quarter- and semi-finals, respectively, before losing to South Africa 2-1 in the final.
Previous tournaments: Morocco have never previously played at the World Cup.
Prospects: Morocco are the lowest-ranked side in Group H alongside Colombia, South Korea and two-times champions Germany, as well as second-lowest-ranked of all the teams that qualified for the tournament (ahead of only Zambia, ranked 77th).
As the only debutants in their group, Morocco's best bet to score points will be against their least experienced opponents at this stage, Colombia, who previously played at the World Cup once and whom they face in the third game.
South Korea
FIFA ranking: 17
Nickname: Taegeuk Ladies
Coach: Colin Bell
How they qualified: South Korea reached the final of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, which served as the World Cup qualifying tournament. They were beaten 3-2 by China in the final but still qualified, as the teams that reached the semi-finals automatically secured spots.
Previous tournaments: This year's tournament will mark the fourth time South Korea will participate in the World Cup. Their best result is reaching the last 16 in 2015.
Prospects: Though Germany's progression is all but a given, South Korea have a good chance to qualify alongside Colombia. Morocco are predicted to finish last in the group.
