Footage has emerged of the incident that led to the Republic of Ireland abandoning their behind-closed-doors game against Colombia in Brisbane on Friday.
A late 20th-minute challenge on Denise O'Sullivan left the Cork midfielder writhing on the turf in pain, with a subsequent scan showing she had suffered soft tissue damage around the shin. She is a real doubt for Thursday's World Cup opener against Australia in Sydney.
Manager Vera Pauw later explained Ireland's reasons for ending the game, saying her players "feared for their bodies" due to Colombia's approach. She said that Ruesha Littlejohn had also been on the end of "a huge challenge" in the earlier stages of the clash.
On Sunday, media outlets published footage as Colombia released a short clip of the tackle on O'Sullivan.
After the game at Meakin Park, Colombian centre-half Daniela Caracas was filmed speaking to waiting fans outside.
"They are little girls," she said of the Irish players. "There was a tackle and they started to complain. They said they were going to see if the wanted to continue playing or not, so our coach [Nelson Abadía] said we are not going to wait for them to decide. Let them eat ****."
When Pauw was told of Caracas' comments, she said: "I'm a bit shocked hearing this. Let's say that they maybe were emotional too."
Ireland train on Monday and Tuesday before flying to Sydney on Wednesday for that massive showdown with the Australians.
