Tipperary's Trevor Breen has claimed a magnificent comeback victory in Sunday's four-star Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi on Luidam's Warrior.
Breen, who had suffered a broken neck and back in a fall last May, produced the only double-clear of the competition to take the win with the 11-year-old mare in a time of 43.36.
Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi of the UAE and Enjoy de la Mure finished as runners-up, with the fastest four-fault round of the jump-off, while Germany's Sophie Hinners and Nuraya 3 finished third with a fence down.
Kildare's Michael Pender and HHS Cyprus narrowly missed out on a place in the jump-off when they picked up four faults in the first round as they finished 10th overall.
