Ireland's Daniel Coyle claimed the biggest show jumping purse in the United States on Sunday after he guided Legacy to top spot at the $500,000 Great American Grand Prix in Florida.
A thrilling 10-horse jump-off in Ocala featured competitors from six countries, with Coyle and Legacy posting a winning clear in a time of 38.52 seconds.
Home hope Kristen Vanderveen and Bull Run’s Risen finished as runners-up in 39.14. Rowan Willis and Billy Guilder claimed third, while Coyle's older brother Jordan took fourth place on Ariso.
"I did my first ever five-star Nations Cup here many years ago, so I always have a good feeling about [HITS Ocala], today I showed that," Coyle said afterwards.
