Ireland's eventing team finished seventh at the 2021 FEI Eventing European Championships in Avenches, Switzerland.
After placing 11th of 13 teams in the opening dressage phase of the competition, the Irish squad climbed up to fifth after Saturday's cross country section before dropping down to seventh after a score of 141.4 in the show jumping phase.
In the individual stakes, Clare Abbott was best of the Irish in 14th place aboard Jewelent, while Sam Watson finished 33rd with Ballybolger Talisman, just one place ahead of Padraig McCarthy with Leonidas II. Cathal Daniels was 43rd aboard LEB Lias Jewel.
Great Britain won both team and individual events, with the quartet of Nicola Wilson, Piggy March, Kitty King and reigning world champion Ros Canter becoming the first all-female team to take European team gold.
And they also swept the board individually, with Wilson and JL Dublin collecting gold, March finishing second aboard Brookfield Inocent and non-team member Sarah Bullimore taking third with Carouet.
Germany took silver and Sweden claimed bronze.
