Power & Watson best of Irish at Tattersalls International

Ireland’s Elizabeth Power and The Irish Sport Horse Samuel Thomas II claimed fourth in the feature Irish Field CCI4*-L at Tattersalls International Horse Trials.

A clear final show-jumping round, coming on the back of another clear in Saturday’s cross country, saw them finish on their Dressage score of 36.50.

Victory went to Britain’s Izzy Taylor and PSH Gazelle on a score of 32.40 and the final standings saw five of the top six places filled by Irish Sport Horses.

Sam Watson and The Irish Sport Horse Tullabeg Flamenco, owned by Vahe Bogossian, recorded a very impressive fourth in the George Mernagh Memorial CCI4*-S.

A clear cross country round inside the time saw them finish on a final score of 39.10. Watson also finished 12th with Imperial Sky (ISH) while Emily Jane Corbett finished 14th with Leapfrog.

Victory went to New Zealander Tim Price and Ascona M on a score of 27.10.

Brian Morrison and Global Orchid finished best of the Irish when taking sixth place in the Eventing Ireland CCI3*-L where victory went to Britain’s William Fox-Pitt riding Georgisaurous.

The Connolly’s RED MILLS CCI3*-L U25 saw an emotional win for Galway’s Daniels riding LEB Lias Jewel (ISH). Daniels finished on his dressage score of 27.7 on LEB Lias Jewel who is owned by Jo Breheny and was bred by Jo’s daughter Laura who sadly passed away almost 10 years ago.

Cathal collected the Laura Breheny Trophy presented by Laura’s parents Jo and Niall.Fergal Nesbitt and Apollo Landing (ISH) were best of the Irish in the Land Rover CCI2* – L when taking eighth place behind British winner John Paul Sheffield with Woodlander Wesuvio.

Meath’s Sarah Ennis took third place in the Cooley Farm CCIYH2*-L with Shanbo Sky Fall (ISH) where Taylor took victory with Hartacker.

The Berney Bros. CCI2*-L for Ponies saw Grace Tyrell come out on top riding Fiona’s Fionn. Chole Fagan and Versace Biscuit (ISH) took the winner's prize in the Horseware Ireland CCIJ2*-L.
