Judy Reynolds set a new Irish record on their way to a seventh-place finish against a world class field in the FEI World Cup Freestyle To Music Grand Prix in Amsterdam.
Riding Vancouver K, owned by her parents Joe and Kathleen, 2016 Rio Olympian Reynolds scored 80.290%. That saw the pair smash their previous Irish record of 79.70% set in Doha, Qatar in March 2016.
Speaking afterward’s, Reynolds was thrilled to set a new record and has now set her sights on the 2019 European championships which take place at Rotterdam in August.
"I’m really delighted to break 80% and set a new Irish international record score. It has been coming for a while and great to achieve it here in Amsterdam in a very hot class," said the Kildare woman, who is now based in Germany.
"It is the year of the European championships and I hope that there is more to come this season."
Reigning world cup champion and six-time Olympic Gold medalist, Germany’s Isabell Werth, took the winners prize with Weihegold OLD on a score 86.810%.
The result in Amsterdam moves Judy Reynolds up to 21st place on the Western European World Cup league table with two qualifying rounds remaining.
Dressage is a form of dancing to music, with the rider marked for their technical ability, choreography and artistic interpretation.
