Ireland's Judy Reynolds scored 73.80% with Joe and Kathleen Reynolds' 14-year-old Jazz gelding Vancouver K to win the Grand Prix at the Rolex Central Park CDI4* show in New York, USA tonight.
She becomes the first international dressage rider from Ireland to win a CDI4* FEI international dressage Grand Prix in North America.
It is her second Grand Prix victory of the season after she set an Irish international Grand Prix record score of 75.24% when winning the Grand Prix at the CDI4* show in Achleiten, Austria on June 3.
Sweden’s Tinne Vilhelmson-Silfven finished in second place with a score of 73.10% followed by Canada’s Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu with 71.06%.
“It’s fantastic to carry on the momentum from Rio and I’m delighted with our performance here. A win in New York City is very special and it’s always an honour to hear the Irish National Anthem being played” said Reynolds.
Last month Judy and Vancouver K were the first Irish combination in 24 years to qualify for the Olympic final in Rio de Janeiro where they placed 18th in the final.
