The Irish show jumping team has qualified for the second round of the Nations' Cup at the European Championships in Denmark.

The team finished ninth of 19 teams on Wednesday morning in Herning.

The top ten qualifiers from the second round will battle it out for medals in the final of the team competition on Thursday.

After two days of jumping, the Great Britain team leads on 8.18 penalties, while Ireland has registered 22.42 penalties.

Tipperary's Shane Breen is currently the highest-placed individual Irish rider - holding 12th place overall - after his clear round in the team competition with Balloon.

Other team scores today were nine faults for Shane Sweetnam and Amaretto Darco, with Cameron Hanley picking up the same number of penalties on Antello Z. Conor Swail and Lansdowne had four faults.

The Individual Championship final will take place on Saturday afternoon.
