Conor Swail finished sixth in the final Grand Prix of the 12-week Winter Equestrian Festival at Palm Beach in Florida.

With 45 combinations taking part in Florida's five-star event, Irish course builder Alan Wade's difficult track yielded no double clear, with eventual winner Daniel Bluman one of just two combinations to finish on a two-round total of four penalties.

Swail took sixth place on the French-bred mare Oceane de Nantuel, faulting once in the first round, with Meath's Cian O'Connor finishing seventh on Blue Loyd.

Ireland's Darragh Kerins took 11th place on the Irish-bred Lisona, with one fence down and a first round time fault.

O'Connor also had a sixth place on Saturday in Palm Beach Championship Classic Final with the Kerry-bred KEC Alligator Alley.

Meanwhile at Barbizon in France, 18-year-old Sven Hadley from Galway won the two-star Grand Prix aboard Adelgonde Z, and at Bonheiden Tipperary's Shane Breen claimed the honours in the Belgian Grand Prix with Cos I Can, with his brother, Trevor, finishing ninth on Adventure de Kannan.

At Vilamoura in Portugal another Tipperary rider, Thomas Ryan, ran up the Grand Prix.

Riding Cruising mare Cruise On Clover, he finished just under a second behind British winner Henry Turrell and another Irish-bred horse, the chestnut gelding Urlanmore Aldi.

Kilkenny's Marion Hughes finished in ninth place on her home-bred mare HHS Fafa.
