Darragh Kenny produced an Irish victory in the Budweiser World Cup competition at Syracuse in New York State on Saturday, with Down's Dermott Lennon finishing in fourth.
Offaly-born Kenny, who is now based in the US, steered the 13 year-old bay gelding Obelix through the seven-horse jump-off and took the $25,000 first prize along with valuable World Cup points.
Former World Champion Lennon, who was riding the nine year-old bay gelding Hallmark Elite, registered one of just three other double clear rounds in the competition to take fourth place and a prize purse of $10,000.
Meanwhile, Jessica Kurten took third place in Saturday’s GPA Masters competition at Lyon, France and netted herself €18,000 in prize money.
One of only three competitors to record two clear rounds in the big 1m60 contest, the Cullybackey-born rider and Lady Georgina Forbes's mare Castle Forbes Myrtille Paulois were just under three seconds adrift of claiming the €30,000 first prize, which went to Canada's Eric Lamaze and the bay stallion Hickstead.
Germany's Marco Kutscher received the runner-up prize of €24,000 with the grey gelding Cantus.
