Thurles-born Thomas Ryan produced Ireland's best result at the four-star show in Bremen with a fifth place in the Grand Prix with Gloria Eschenbach's 12 year-old 'Urleven van de Helle'.
The 23 year-old rider had one fence down in the first round of the
contest, but improved to go clear second time out.
Only two combinations recorded double clear rounds in the Grand Prix - winner Rolf-Goran Bengtsson from Sweden and British runner-up Ellen Whitaker.
Ryan and 'Urleven van de Helle' were called up for the first time last year to represent Ireland at Super League level and distinguished themselves at the Barcelona final with just one fence down in each round, helping to secure Ireland's fifth place in the league and qualifying the country for the 2009 series.
The Tipperary rider has been based at Optimum Stables in Birr,
Switzerland, for the last three years and is a former member of the Irish Junior European Championship team.
