Jessica Kurten's persistence in Dresden's Young Horse classes finally paid off in Germany on Sunday morning, when she was rewarded with an outright win in the Bioranch Young Horse Final.

Though she had claimed a qualifying second and fifth in two separate competitions at Dresden with Lady Moira Forbes's seven year-old chestnut stallion Naturel, Cullybackey-born Kurten decided to switch to the bay mare Fashion to clinch the Bioranch Youngster Cup.

The mare, by For Feeling, delivered the goods for the Irish rider, with two clear rounds over a 1m40 course, and a quarter of a second advantage in the 15-horse jump-off over Dutch runner-up Willem Greve and the Celano mare Uceline.
