Jessica Kurten broke the German dominance at the top end of the Young Horse Class in Leipzig with a win on the eight-year-old chestnut mare Quidana.

Mayo's Cameron Hanley, who racked up Ireland's first victory at Leipzig on Friday, also took a fourth place on the eight-year-old SIEC Alienne in Saturday's competition, which was the second qualifier for the Young Horse Final at the German show on Sunday.

Later on Saturday, Kurten was best of the Irish in the big jump-off class, where she finished fifth.

Kurten brought the grey mare Jipey Dark across the line in 35 seconds during the 18-horse jump-off, but it was too slow to challenge the 32.18 seconds of the German winner Christian
Ahlmann and Coquet.

Ireland's other finisher in the competition, Denis Lynch, also made
the jump-off, but had two fences down with Upsilon d'Ocquier to end in 14th, just one place outside the prize money.
