Jessica Kurten struck an early blow for Ireland at La Coruna, Spain tonight with a win in the second competition of the five-star show's opening day.
Riding Kalande des Grez, the 38-year-old was over a second faster than Belgian challenger Ludo Philippaerts in the 1m45 two-phase competition.
Kurten is joined at La Coruna by fellow Irish rider Marion Hughes.
The show's main Grand Prix takes place on Saturday night.
Elswwhere, Denis Lynch was beaten into second place in Frankfurt when France's Philippe Rozier snatched victory in the speed class.
