Billy Twomey was best of the Irish in Sunday’s Grand Prix at the Horse of The Year Show in Birmingham.
The 30 year-old, Cork-born rider placed third with the chestnut mare Tinka's Serenade, over three seconds off the pace of French winner Patrice DeLaveau, but one of just a trio of riders to record a double clear round from a field of 22 starters.
Elsewhere, Limerick-born Captain Shane Carey took his first win of the weekend in the three-star French show in St Lo with the 15 year-old bay gelding Killossery.
