Turkington best of Irish in Germany

Emily Turkington proved to be the best of the Irish at the Individual Pony European Championships in Freudenberg, Germany on Sunday, when she finished eighth overall on the nine year-old bay gelding Future Interest.

Thirteen year-old Emily, from Co. Down, accumulated a total of 19
faults, while fellow Irish riders Richard Howley on Our Foreman and Shane Connell on Murphy's Fligh> shared 13th place in the
championships with 28 faults apiece.

The European Individual title was won by Britain's Zoe Adams with VIP Tixylix on a total of five faults.

Ireland won the Pony European Team Bronze Medal on Friday at Freudenberg.
