Ireland's Cian O'Connor finished fifth in Sunday's five-star
Longines Grand Prix at St Gallen, Switzerland.
The Co Meath based rider's double clear round on the ten-year-
old chestnut gelding gave him a fighting chance of victory, but the winner's laurels finally went to Switzerland's Markus Fuchs, who was almost five seconds faster in the second round.
O'Connor's double clear, though, was one of only five achieved from an international starting field of 49 horses and riders.
