Cork's Billy Twomey finished second in the 1m50 two-phase competition at the three-star show in Nantes, France.
The English-based rider broke the beam on the 12 year-old Irish-bred, Killy Jones, just under half a second behind British rider Guy
Williams.
Twomey and Tom Davin are the sole Irish representatives at Nantes, where the Grand Prix takes place on Sunday afternoon.
